Air Fryer Spatchcock Chicken

Air fryer spatchcock chicken is tender, delicious, and full of flavour. Once you learn how to cook a whole chicken in an air fryer, you will not be cooking it in the oven again. It is easy to make, and the chicken turns out juicy and delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.3 kg Whole chicken (about 2.9 lb)
  • 2 springs thyme
  • 2 springs coriander
  • 3 springs parsley
  • 1 Tablespoon rosemary
  • ½ Tablespoon paprika
  • ½ Tablespoon garlic granules
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 3 Tablespoons oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the air fryer to 180C/350F. In a small bowl, add your seasoning for spatchcock chicken. Place the chicken on a flat plate breast side and rub the chicken marinade all over it.
  • Place the chicken in the air fryer basket breast side down. Rub in the seasoning mix. Cook the spatchcocked chicken in the air fryer for 20 minutes. Flip and cook for another 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken registers 165F/74C.
  • Transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 10 minutes for the juice to redistribute before carving. Serve with your favourite dish, and enjoy!
