Cooking fish sticks at the right temperature in an air fryer is vital otherwise you may end up with soggy fish sticks. You will love this side dish because it's convenient, quick, and easy to make for the family. It comes out crispy each time, and no point waiting around tossing and turning on a stove pot.
If you are not a fan of frozen foods, you can make your fish sticks at home from scratch. All you need is a white fish like cod or haddock. Cut into finger sizes, and dipped into egg wash before coating with plain or golden breadcrumbs.
Air Fryer Fish Fingers
Fish fingers are popularly served to children for lunch or dinner at home or parties. Try with any sauce of choice and serve with mashed potatoes, tater tots, or mozzarella sticks for the kids, it is a game changer and the best-frozen fish sticks for the whole family.
The size and thickness of the fish sticks or fingers will determine how long to cook it. I am using my instant vortex air fryer, 5.7L, and can conveniently fit up to 10 fish fingers in the basket. You can fit as many as you like in your air fryer, but try not to overload or stack the fish to allow even cooking.
Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness, and the internal temperature of the fish should register 125F/51C.
What you will need
Frozen fish sticks – use any brand of choice. I have used the ASDA brand. Feel free to use any brand of choice.
Cooking oil spray – optional.
Sauce – use your favorite sauce. Both young and old enjoy tartar sauce, peri peri, or ketchup. I love it with my garlic herb sauce.
